Sandy is an occupational therapist and Executive Director of Touch the Future Inc. She chairs the DAPR Community Advisory Committee. Her work focuses on disability rights, assistive technology, and ensuring that lived experience and inclusion are authentically embedded by design in all aspects of research and service delivery. Ms. Hanebrink has contributed to university research initiatives across the country, including developing inclusive project designs and instruments, recruiting qualified lived-experience advisory members and research participants, and serving as a clinical researcher. She works with technology manufacturers to develop innovative technologies, including BCIs, iBCIs, and medical and commercial exoskeletons. She serves on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities’ G3ict Neuro-Abilities Advisory Committee.
